The Paris Olympics may be over, but American Olympic medalist Stephen Nedoroscik is still at it. The gymnast is ready to ride the pommel horse to the dance floor on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars.
On Good Morning America on Aug. 22, ABC reported that Olympic bronze medalist Nedoroscik would be the first contestant to compete for the coveted disco ball this fall.
Nedoroscik is the first male gymnast to compete in the program’s 19-year history. On GMA, the camera focused on the 25-year-old as he performed one of his pommel horse routines on the studio floor.
When asked by Robin Roberts if he would take some of his pommel horse moves to the dance floor, he replied, “I hope to bring some. I need to bring flares, I need to bring a little bit of that gymnastics. “. Maybe a backward turn or a stop. I need to laugh at that.
“I’m very excited,” the gymnast said, adding that she had immediately said “yes” to the opportunity to participate in the celebrity dance festival.
Nedoroscik, dubbed the “pommel horse guy” at the 2024 Paris Olympics, played a key role in the U. S. team’s bronze in the men’s gymnastics team final, its first medal in 16 years.
“I think it’s the most important moment of my life,” the athlete told People after her record-breaking regimen in the team final.
The Worcester, Massachusetts local went viral on social media for his thick glasses, drawing comparisons to Clark Kent. When it came time to compete, Nedoroscik took off his glasses because he said he didn’t want his eyes to see the pommel horse.
