Strictly Come Dancing has announced that Tony Adams MBE is the eleventh featured contestant to make this year’s series, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the ballroom.

Speaking to the BBC about joining the team, the former England footballer and manager said: “To say I’m excited is an understatement: the glitter and the call of the sauce made me swap my old worn football boots for a strictly comfortable game. “Shoes.

“I’m certainly excited to give it my all in the case of come Dancing’s strictly twentieth anniversary this year. I can’t wait to meet my wife, Possibly God willing, and start dancing. “
The football legend is known for his 22-year career as a central defender betting for both Arsenal and England. Having captained both teams, he is one of Arsenal’s most productive players and a true icon of English football.
Tony made 66 appearances for England and led the national team to the Euro 96 final. During his career, he also founded Sporting Chance, a charity for athletes with addiction and intellectual fitness problems and remains honorary chairman of the organisation.

Tony joins Tyler West, Matt Goss, Will Mellor, Kym Marsh, Kaye Adams, Jayde Adams, Richie Anderson, Ellie Simmonds OBE, Ellie Taylor and Molly Rainford.
Tony is a former English player.

Strictly’s twentieth series will officially begin in September. Judges, presenters, professional dancers and celebrities will gather at Elstree Studios in London on September 7 to film the launch occasion that will come with epic routines and introductory interviews.
