Evelyne Nyairo was encouraged to create her Ellie Bianca skincare line after a party with wild mango trees in Chad.
“They took me to a circle of relatives where mom and her children skillfully climbed trees under the scorching sun to harvest mangoes for me to eat,” recalls Nyairo, a chemist and environmental scientist at the time in the African country where she was doing fieldwork. When he won the culmination of the circle of relatives, he was told to pay the husband than the wife.

“I felt a knot of anger in my center when I passed the money to the man,” Nyairo says.
At the time, the entrepreneur sought to start a business that would help give back to women who run in communities around the world. Built on the pillars of “Take Care of Your Skin, Care for the Earth, Care for Women,” the herbal skincare line uses organic ingredients from around the world to create its products in Alberta. Through its sales, the company manages several projects, such as the Ellie Bianca Foundation and the Ellie Bianca Scholarship to help single mothers in Canada and Africa.
