Surprise! Niecy Nash is newly married.
The “Claws” went to social media on Monday to reveal that she and singer Jessica Betts have married.
“Mrs. Carol Denise Betts,” Nash captioned an Instagram photo of her and Betts holding hands and smiling.In the photo, Nash wears a white wedding with a long flowing veil, while Betts puts on a buttoned-up village shirt.trousers, slippers, vest and tie.
“#LoveWins, ” added Nash, with a ring-shaped emoji.Betts shared the same photo on his Instagram, writing, “I have a wife.”
According to the Los Angeles Times and Out, the announcement is Nash’s first public presence in the LGBTQ community.
USA TODAY has contacted Nash’s representatives for comment.
The news comes less than a year after Nash announced that she and her husband Jay Tucker were divorcing.
Nash also used her Instagram story on Monday to share a photo of Betts with her arm around her.The actress added the hashtag “#PlotTwist” with a rainbow emoji.
On another Instagram post on Monday, Betts shared his 2018 love song “Catch Me,” writing “C A U G H T” with an emoji ring.In the song, Betts fears he should catch up with her when he falls:
I’ve lost my center and many other people before, as I thought, and I no longer need it when I take off.
Betts sang the song with Nash on the set of “Claws”, where the singer played a role in the season 2 finale.At one of Betts’ Instagram posts in 2018, Nash wears a wedding dress while Betts accompanies her on guitar.Nash was still married to Tucker at the time, whom she married in 2011.In a joint statement, the star announced the couple’s separation in October 2019 and their divorce ended in March.
“I need to give niecynash1 a special shout,” Betts wrote in the 2018 video.”This of God, I am venerated and blessed in his presence.She’s anointed and named.”
Several celebrities left Nash’s message, sharing his congratulations and enthusiasm for the newlyweds.
“YASSSSS !!!!!” Found halle Berry wrote. “Bless this union!”
“Empire” star Taraji P.Henson wrote that he was “very happy” for Nash.
“God bless your union!” wrote director Ava DuVernay. “I love you!”
American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson wrote that he enjoyed “so much” Nash, which he pointed out with a lot of emojis in the middle and hands.
“You’re beautiful!” Mindy Kaling wrote.” Congratulations!!So I love you both!”

Nash spoke about the pursuit of happiness in a speech at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards in February.
“The detachment from my family’s beliefs, the expectations of the Internet and the end of my marriage have caused me so much pain.I’m about to do my 50 vacation around the sun.I am very grateful because I know myself better and more complete than ever,” he said.I let my daughters see me paint the (divorce), because for them, I need them to get up every day and decide for themselves.
