The Hilton Long Beach has introduced a new charm called Dinner and Movie Nights, inviting anyone, hotel visitors and locals, to eat something and watch a movie from the sensibleest of the hotel’s new pool deck.
The occasion takes place twice a week, during the rest of the summer, and costs $10. And that’s not even the most productive part. Not only can you watch the movie from its gigantic movie-style inflatable screen while floating, enough to go, because our sweat sweat sweat, yet the Hilton, located downtown, also offers special culinary reports depending on the night you’re in. Going.
Tuesdays are, of course, taco Tuesdays. Street tacos – to the shepherd, carnitas – and daisies. Not just any daisies either,” said Swietlana Cahill, Hilton’s executive leader. No, Hilton bartenders have designed a special variety ranging from their popular lime and strawberry to watermelon, peach and mango. Mixed or in rocks, their poison, vary from $9 to $10. And another $10 buys you a plate of 3 street tacos.
Thursday’s fair includes burgers or hot dogs with fries, also at $10. And if you’re sorry Thursday’s deals aren’t as exciting as Taco Tuesday, isn’t there a well-stocked bar on site as well as loose popcorn?
According to CDC guidelines, Hilton only accepts 40 visitors according to the event, which you will want to book online. Only 23 other people are allowed access to the pool at a time and there will be staff on site to assist you. There are many seats available to visitors, however, we encourage you to bring your own blankets and pillows so you can lie down as you wish. And, in case you’re wondering, the total area is covered with artificial turf that is washed daily.
Hilton just finished renovating the pool deck in June, it was a long procedure with unforeseen complications, as the renovations tend to be, but it is beautiful, especially at night. The area shines with romantic inner purple lighting, the awnings and palm trees are wrapped in luminous garlands. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get any pictures of this before this story started, but you just have to see it for yourself.
The official opening of Dinner and Movie Nights will take place on Tuesday, August 25. The first film to be screened will be “Oceans 8.” Hilton plans to celebrate the occasion until October 31, and the rest of the film’s schedule will be announced by the end of this month. Currently, scheduled movies include:
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the movie at 8 p.m.
Guests must provide facial coverage for the entrance and are asked to stay six feet away from other guests, at home.
