The musical ‘Almost Famous’ sets Broadway’s new opening date, Lands Venue

Almost famous, the musical from Cameron Crowe’s 2000 film will begin premiering at the Bernard B Theatre. Broadway Jacobs on October 3, before opening night on November 3.

The new dates come a few weeks after those first announced last month before Almost Famous arrived on the scene. The Jacobs is recently home to the musical renaissance of Company, which recently aired a final announcement on July 31.

The Broadway will be directed by Chris Wood, Anika Larsen, Solea Pfeiffer, Drew Gehling, Rob Colletti and Casey Likes.

Directed by Jeremy Herrin, choreographed through Sarah O’Glethrough, the musical an e-book and lyrics through Crowe, with original music and lyrics through Tom Kitt.

Set in 1973, Almost Famous follows William Miller, an aspiring 15-year-old music journalist hired through Rolling Stone magazine to tour with an up-and-coming band. The official synopsis: “William is propelled into the rock and roll circus, where his love of music, his preference for friendship and his integrity collide. Almost Famous is about a young man who discovers his position in the world and the indelible characters he meets along the way. It is a birthday party of community, family, fandom and the strength of music.

The announcement of the location and opening date was made today through manufacturers Lia Vollack and Michael Cassel.
