A sequel to John Hughes’ harvest would gain speed at Paramount Pictures
Paramount Pictures is reportedly working on a spin-off of John Hughes Ferris’ Bueller’s Day Off.
According to a new report from Deadline, the spin-off will be directed by Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, with Bill Posley fit to write the script.
Titled Sam and Victor’s Day Off, the new film “will be the same-day adventure of the titular camera assistants who took the Ferrari on a joyful ride on Matthew Broderick’s star. “
Others included in the new are Paul Young (producer), Devon Young (executive producer) and Stephen Cedars, Benji Kleiman and Scott Yacyshyn (associate producers).
During the first COVID lockdown in 2020, the cast of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off reunited as a component of Josh Gad’s internet series “Reunited Acomponent. “
The Frozen actor spent his lockdown collecting featured video actors for a series of special webcams in lockdown, adding The Goonies, The Lord of the Rings and Ghostbusters.
For the series finale, Gad reunited Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, and Jennifer Gray from John Hughes’ cult classic.
Lyman Ward and Cindy Pickett, who played Bueller’s parents, as well as the star of economics professor Ben Stein, also joined the meeting, as the actors talked about their memories of the film. Fan Jake Gyllenhaal also listened to ask for anecdotes, while director Kenny Ortega also appeared, who choreographed the film’s famous parade scene.
The episode ended with a tribute to John Hughes, who died in 2009, with several stars from his films, plus Molly Ringwald, Steve Martin, Catherine O’Hara, Michael Keaton, Judd Nelson and Anthony Michael Hall, recreating lines.
The episode increased the budget for CORE, which “provides monetary relief when a food and beverage worker with children faces a physical crisis, death, or herbal disaster. “
