Vacheron Constantin, respected as the world’s oldest watch manufacturer (founded in 1755), brings to Sydney a rare array of antique pieces from its Geneva museum.
Chosen from some 1,600 pieces from its collection, the so-called Less’ential watches will be exhibited at the Financial Review About Time watch fair on September 22 and 23.
The exhibition highlights the brand’s style over the decades. “Whatever the complexity of the mechanisms and the sophistication of the complications, it expresses a watchmaking design in which simplicity becomes sophistication,” says Christian Selmoni, the brand’s Swiss-based director of taste and heritage. .

The result? A form of watchmaking minimalism that has “traversed time and epoch with grace and elegance”.
Visitors will be able to judge for themselves, but the exhibition will be an exclusive opportunity to get up close and private about the museum’s pieces, from the expected classics to the wonderfully original.
Modern pieces rarely seen here come with a couple of retrograde novelties: Overseas, Patrimony and Classic, unveiled at Watches and Wonders in Geneva this year. The About Time experience will be complemented by master classes with a watchmaker who will create a movement on site. , map the steps on a screen and present you with the mirrored image (and stories) of Vacheron’s watchmaking approach.
