The film, starring Brad Pitt as an F1 driver, is directed by Joseph Kosinski and will be released in theaters on June 27, 2025 in North America and June 25, 2025 worldwide, directed by Deadline’s Anthony D’Alessandro.
Damson Idris will play Pitt’s teammate and also includes Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.
Sky Sports previously reported some details related to the film, adding the fact that legendary F1 driver Lewis Hamilton is co-producing with Jerry Bruckheimer, who teamed up with Kosinski on Top Gun: Maverick.
Formula 1 released the following related to the F1 film last month, declaring its realism:
“The film is a benchmark for video games and film, filmed in real time at grands prix around the world and involving the Formula 1 community, the 10 teams, the drivers, the FIA and the race organisers.
“The new feature film is set in the exciting and cinematic world of Formula 1 and will immerse audiences in the spectacle of the most popular annual sports series, celebrating the skill and heroism of drivers while showcasing the challenge of competing in Formula 1. “
In an effort to make F1 as true to real-life Formula 1 racing imaginable, Pitt and Idris attended several F1 races in 2023 to film, and this continued into the 2024 season.
According to Sky Sports, Pitt and Idris were due to be present for Sunday’s British Grand Prix, as well as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December.
In the film, Pitt and Idris will be the drivers of the fictional APXGP F1 team as they overcome the trials and tribulations of the Formula 1 season.
