Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated the premiere of his YouTube channel on Wednesday.

The legendary soccer star posted a video showing in front of his children a golden “play button”, which is given to channels that exceed one million subscribers.

The channel was a quick success, achieving one million subscribers within 90 minutes of its launch and becoming the fastest channel to reach that milestone, according to ESPN’s Adriana Garcia.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner posted 19 on his account, which now has 21. 6 million subscribers on YouTube.

Ronaldo is no stranger to breaking records on social media, as his 636 million fans on Instagram are the largest account on the platform. He has 170 million fans on Facebook and 112. 6 million more on X (h/t García).

The 39-year-old striker is coming off a historic season on the pitch with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo has scored 35 goals, which is a new record for goals in a single season for the league.

He is also expected to earn more for his YouTube achievements, as the former Real Madrid star’s account is now eligible for the diamond play button by surpassing 10 million subscribers.
