In an exclusive clip of the special received via Fox News Digital, Odom recounted his near-fatal overdose in a Nevada brothel in 2015.
“Lamar is in a coma on a ventilator,” said TMZ manufacturer Charles Latibeaudière. “He suffers 12 strokes and six central attacks. “
“The guy is only 35 years old and is about to die. “
“All my doctors who were around me when the incident happened were like a walking miracle,” Odom said.

Odom was born in South Jamaica, Queens, New York. His father, Joseph, was addicted to heroin and was largely absent for most of Odom’s childhood. In his memoir “From Darkness to Light,” Odom wrote of his father: I didn’t know it at the time, but he would give me a plan to stick to and the things I hated him for, I would.
Odom lost his mother Cathy to colon cancer at the age of 12. The long-term professional athlete bounced between 3 other major schools in his teens. He pledged to bet basketball at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas before being declared ineligible after discovering he had accepted more than $5,000 in money from one of the team’s promoters.
He transferred to the University of Rhode Island for a year prior to the 1999 NBA Draft.
Odom played for the Los Angeles Clippers from 1999 to 2003. During his time with the team, he was suspended twice for violating NBA drug policy. After leaving the Clippers as a limited free agent, Odom joined the Miami Heat, where he played for one year before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
It was during Odom’s seven-year tenure with the Lakers that he had his greatest fortune on the field. Odom won the NBA championship in 2009 and 2011 and was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2011. He won a bronze medal with the USA. U. S. Men’s National Basketball Team at the 2004 Summer Olympics and a gold medal at the 2010 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

In his memoirs, Odom revealed that he used a penile prosthesis to pass on a drug in order to compete in the Olympics.
After being traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, Odom’s career began to decline. In 2012, he returned to the Clippers for a year before retiring from professional basketball in 2014.
Prior to his marriage to Kardashian, Odom had a long-term relationship with stylist Liza Morales, with whom he had a daughter, Destiny, 24, and sons, Lamar Jr. , 20, and Jayden (2005-2006).
In June 2006, Jayden tragically died from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at just 61/2 months. In a 2017 interview with the New Zealand Herald, Odom recalled that he went out the night Jayden died.
“They gave me a phone call that replaced my life,” he said at the point of sale. “It was the summer of 2006. I was partying all night and I hadn’t gone home. “
“My son Jayden was 6 months old at the time. He was at home in his crib. I’ve been home with him. But I was outside, doing anything. “
Odom went on to say that he had ideas about Jayden every day. He explained that his devastation following his son’s death was the catalyst that plunged him into escalating cocaine abuse.
“I think everything got better at the time, with the medication,” Odom said. “Even subconsciously. You don’t even know why you’re doing it at the time. We’re going through. “
Odom and Kardashian met in August 2009 at a party hosted by Lakers basketball star teammate Ron Artest. They married on September 27, 2009, after only a month of dating, in a televised wedding that aired on the E!Reality show “Keeping Up With Kardashians. ” Odom has a family call after joining the big screen of success after marrying Kardashian.

Odom’s cocaine use continued his marriage to Kardashian. Although she first tried to hide it from the Good American founder, she told Us Weekly in 2017 that she caught him using drugs in 2011.

The couple’s marriage continued to worsen and rumors of separation began to surface in the summer of 2013. Odom was arrested for DUI in August of the same year and reached a plea deal in which he agreed to 3 years of probation.
On December 13, 2013, Kardashian filed for divorce after less than 4 years of marriage.
In October 2015, Odom nearly died of a catastrophic overdose at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada. He remained in a coma after suffering kidney failure, heart attacks and 12 strokes. At that time, Kardashian and Odom’s divorce had not yet been finalized. And she ran to the hospital to be by his side.
Two weeks later, Kardashian withdrew her divorce petition. At the time, she told People magazine that they had not yet reconciled and that she had to avoid divorce in order to make medical decisions on her behalf.
“I gave up the divorce because there is no urgency,” he said. For medical decisions and a bunch of other things, it’s smarter to suspend it. But that doesn’t mean I’m back with Lamar. “It’s not even in our brain to think we have a relationship. Only time will tell. “
Odom was released from the hospital in January 2016 and Kardashian continued to help him in his recovery. However, the “Kardashian Konfessional” writer filed for divorce in May 2016 and her divorce was finalized in 2016.
While starring in “Celebrity Big Brother” earlier this year, Odom said his failed marriage to Kardashian was the biggest mistake of his life.

“When I married Khloé, I did a lot of things in our relationship,” Lamar said on the show’s Valentine’s Day episode in February.
“I never hurt him,” he added.
The amateur boxer, who has now been sober for six years, said he has yet to reconcile with his ex-wife.
“It would be a blessing to be in his presence,” he said. “But she has the right not to see me again because of the things I put her through again. “
