What’s New on Netflix: Five Videos to Watch This Week (August 5-11)

The list of new TV and videos on Netflix this week comes to the fore with the newest season of a beloved Netflix original show.

“The Umbrella Academy” will release its fourth and final season this Thursday. Last season, the Hargreeves children of the Umbrella Academy faced the Hargreeves children of the Sparrow Academy. This multiversal adventure ended when the Hargreeves children saved lives from oblivion, but now you’ll have to avoid the apocalypse once again.

The most sensible choice this week is a laugh for the kids, or at least anything that gives parents a break. “Gabby’s Dollhouse” has only been around since 2021, however, DreamWorks Animation’s preschool series already has 60 episodes. In the series, Gabby (Laila Lockhart Kraner) and her feline friends go on an adventure in Gabby’s dollhouse, which includes several themed rooms.

In season 10, the theme is vacations. So sign up for Gabby and the Gabby Cats to enjoy 10 fun episodes as they celebrate birthdays, Family Day, and even Opposite Day.

“Love Is Blind” has been a staple of the exhibition of truth for Netflix since its inception in early 2020. Hosted by husband and wife Nick and Vanessa Lachey, the exhibit pairs men and women to see if they can find true love. The only problem? They cannot see each other until they are engaged.

Now, after several successful iterations in other countries, Netflix is releasing “Love Is Blind: United Kingdom. “This time, celebrity couple Emma and Matt Willis will advise 30 British singles on true love for 3 weeks. This week, the first 4 seasons are coming to Netflix for you to binge.

“The Umbrella Academy” follows the story of the Hargreeves brothers, seven children followed by the eccentric Sir Reginald Hargreeves as part of a plan to save the world. They’ve stopped the apocalypse from stopping at this point, but it looks like season four will require them to save the world one last time.

The challenge is that after the match at the Oblivion Hotel that led to a complete reset of his timeline, things were largely smart for. . . well, for everyone. But a gang called The Keepers can turn everything upside down, so the Hargreeves youngsters still have no choice to fight them, even if it destroys everything they’ve already won. This season introduces new cast members in the form of real-life couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally as Dr. Gene, Jane Thibedeau and David Cross. like Sy Grossman.

Fans of “The Great British Baking Show” should definitely not miss this latest Netflix baking contest. In “Blue Ribbon Baking Championship,” Netflix pits 10 award-winning pastry chefs against each other, each wearing a blue state fair ribbon with their call.

For those who don’t know, state fairs are held every year across the country and are an excuse to eat what is the least healthy (but tastiest!) food on Earth. If your food is exceptional, you can get a blue ribbon to represent your excellence. As part of the “Blue Ribbon Baking Championship,” the 10 ribbon winners are battling for the name of United States’ Best Baker and $100,000.

If, like me, you love your dog. And if, like my wife, you would like to know what your dog thinks. In this Netflix documentary, narrator Rob Lowe takes you on an adventure into the minds of our four-legged friends and discover what makes them tick. He also explores the differences between other breeds, like why some dogs play fetch and why your friend’s Chihuahua thinks he can take on a Great Dane.

Don’t like dogs? It is ok. There is already the Netflix documentary “In the Mind of a Cat” for those who prefer a feline friend.
