The College GameDay team is in for an eventful weekend as the first of the College Football Playoff starts with an intriguing matchup in South Bend. The team will be provide Friday for the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish opposed to the No. 10 Indiana Hoosiers.
Who will be the program coach in South Bend?
On Friday, he announced that comedian Shane Gillis would be the show’s celebrity guest for the matchup between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Indiana Hoosiers.

The College GameDay crew consisting of retired coach Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard alongside host Rece Davis will have a historic weekend traveling to two destinations during the first round of the college football playoff weekend.
The legendary Lee Corso will also return for the college weekend after missing a few weeks due to poor health. On Friday, the show will air in South Bend for Indiana versus Notre Dame starting at 3:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.
The next day, the team will travel to Columbus for the Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Tennessee Volunteers matchup at the Horseshoe.
Notre Dame will host the exhibition for the twelfth time in its history. Friday’s exhibition will mark the 38th time (17-20 record) that she has appeared in the exhibition.
This will be Indiana’s fourth appearance in the series, with two to come this season. The Hoosiers came in with a win over the Washington Huskies and a loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The team will be joined by coaches Kirthrough Smart of Georgia, Dabo Swinney of Clemson, Curt Cignetti of Indiana and Steve Sarkisian of Texas.
The show’s ratings rebounded in an epic 2024 season due to potential artistic choices from guest casters, including actor Timothee Chalamet and even Nick Saban’s wife, Terry, earlier in the season.
