If you’re having trouble understanding why your Instagram push notifications work, you’re in the right place.
Whether it’s getting an alert when you like or commenting on your post or knowing when your favorite celebrity is starting a live video, notifications are an easy way to keep up with everything that happens with your Instagram account.
You can seamlessly turn on your Instagram notifications, but if they don’t seem to work, you may want to check the notification settings on your phone.
There could be several reasons why your Instagram notifications aren’t working. For example, you may have accidentally turned on “Do Not Disturb” mode for your iPhone or Android device.
However, you may want to check the notification settings on your phone and in the Instagram app. Here’s how to do just that, using your iPhone or Android device.
There are two tactics to make certain Instagram notifications enabled for an iPhone: the Instagram app and through your phone settings.
To allow device configuration notifications:
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Press “Notifications”.
3. Scroll through the app menu to your Instagram. Press to open.
4. Next to “Allow notifications”, see a cursor. When the cursor is green and white, notifications are enabled. If the cursor looks gray and white, tap it to turn on notifications.
Once this is done, you can also check the Instagram app to make certain notifications enabled:
1. Open the Instagram app.
2. Tap your profile icon in the back corner of your screen.
3. Press the 3 horizontal lines in the most sensitive right corner of your profile, then tap “Parameters” in the menu that appears.
4. Press “Notifications”.
5. From there, you can adjust notification settings for Instagram features. Tap a particular category to customize notification settings for that category.
If you have an Android device, the steps to verify the settings of your notifications are different.
To allow notifications in your device settings:
1. Open the Android settings.
2. Select “Applications”. Then search and “Instagram”.
3. Press “Notifications”.
4. In this menu, you can check if notifications are blocked. You can also customize the notifications you’ll receive. If notifications are allowed for a specific category, the cursor next to that category appears in blue and white. If the cursor looks white and gray, tap it to allow notifications.
Once this is done, you can also check the Instagram app to make certain notifications enabled:
1. Open the Instagram app.
2. Access your profile page by tapping on the profile icon on the right side of the toolbar at the bottom of your screen.
3. Press the 3 horizontal lines in the most sensitive right corner of your screen. Then tap “Parameters”.
4. Press “Notifications”.
5. From there, you can adjust notification settings for Instagram features. Tap a particular category to customize notification settings for that category.
